The following roles exist within Ghenna.... if interested contact Widowmaker Clapsaddle... Mina Surya... Sara Cremorne or Shamus Moody.

Outlaw... obviously

Bounty Hunters... obviously we'll seek revenge of folks and if that appeals then this role is for you. IM Roku2 Hallard about this for further.

Bar staff... sometimes us sober outlaws like a drink...

Lawyers... we need a head lawyer first and then underlings... can you convincingly argue for the innocence of a murderer... can you lie through your teeth and claim someone is innocent when they are clearly guilty. This is the job for you!

Hotel manager... one hotel that stands empty... this may involve organising social events also.. dances etc..

Newspaper... if you like other peoples stories and want to produce a Ghenna times then IM me for that.

Other roles included .... town drunk, town idiot, homeless bums, women of ill repute, old geezers who fondly remember the good old days and whinge on and on about how it just ain't the same.

And if you can think of one of your own then feel free to suggest it.

Oh and all these roles are non-paid... just for the fun folks...

Note: Membership of Ghenna groups is based on you already being a Tombstone Citizen... these groups are no independent of Tombstone.

Report on Apache/10thCAV Battle

The following article was scribbled on parchment and arrived to my desk rather mysteriously. As with so many letters I receive, it is of unknown origin. This one seems to be written from the Apache perspective. I present it to you here with limited editing for spelling errors....

The air was heavy this morning. Smoke wafted across the desert. Small rivulets of blood collected and formed streams larger than the streams of water that were trickling across the desert this day.

War had broken out between the Apache and the 10th Cavalry. Both sides, supported by various allies, were hungering for each other's blood like packs of starved coyotes after a wounded antelope.

The Apaches tried dealing the first blow, attacking the fort with the help of their allies. sending wave after wave against the walls, trying to scale them with ladders, trying dynamite against the gates. Finally, breaching the front and backside while two brave Devil's Rejects planted inside the fort started mowing down the soldiers. I was a slaughter of epic proportions.

The Apaches returned to their village to celebrate, but the celebration was short lived as the 10th mounted a counterattack on the Apache village. Fighting their way valiantly up the draw to the village, and trying to mount a flanking move through Ghenna, the Cavalry and their allies soon found out why the Apache were called the greatest guerrilla fighters in the west. Thwarted at every turn by hit and run tactics, booby traps, and ambushes, the 10th was again soundly defeated.

In a final attempt at victory, both leaders somehow managed to get captured. As attempts were mounted form both sides, the blood and carnage mounted. Screams and moans could be heard all over the desert. It was almost unbearable. Capt. Wolfgang Kyong managed to break free from his captors, but was shot down while fleeing. A final Attempt To free Chief Dagger Barbosa was launched, and proved to be successful, but not without it's price. Many lay dead and dying on the field if battle.

All in all, the Apaches and their allies had won the day, defeating the 10th Cavalry and their allies. Both side however, fought valiantly and courageously to the end, and should be congratulated for their efforts.

RPing at the Fort

From: Cahan McDonnagh

To All

From now on for someone to get over the walls they have to be carrying a ladder to the fort or have it burried somewhere near the fort to use to climb over the walls. And if you have a ladder you can not be shooting someone at the same time. If anyone one just walks up the walls this will be consider none RP and is not allowed. Any questions come see me or any admin in RPing

Thank you Cahan

Letters to the Editor - July 30th (including a response)

Edward Pearse: (Saved Mon Jul 30 22:54:25 2007)

Letter to the editor of the Tombstone Sun Review:

Having seen first hand the bad feelings that the Tombstone Broken Rose sim has generated among the Western RP populace, perhaps you could discover why madminxmag Vandeperck is ejecting people from the group with no explanation or warning? Having had personal run ins with the management there some time back, I was disappointed to see it still happening. And I've personally been told by the Deputy there that I wasn't 19th century enough to come into the town. Which I found ironic in a place that has hotpants for sale in the shops and "naked whore racing."

Yours respectfully, E. Pearse, Earl of Primbroke.

Here is the response from owner madminxmag Vandeperck...
madminxmag Vandeperck: (Saved Tue Jul 31 05:37:14 2007)

that was the last straw with that 'deputy' i was very upset when that happened and i realized he was totally unfit for that position....

I'd like to know names of people we have ejected without good reason....

the old management was very final about things and was easily moved in a whim to create or destroy - here- in Tombstone - actual PLAYERS are given these responsibilities and duties- so as to have them honestly and genuinely contribute to the SIM as a whole- if you take the amount of people that are here with those permissions - versus the incidences you will find them few and far between....

there is no one here with total knowledge of the time period - but that is because we embrace EVERY language- and EVERY culture and also - every race - all these folks have only so much knowledge - but grow and learn every day- we are prepared to carry the burden of several mistakes- it is unfortunate- true- but it is what can happen in a "Town " of 600 people....

I have also asked edward and his lady here for a guided tour...

My comments: One of the things I wish to promote is a fellowship amongst all the 19th Century Sims of SL. I hope this is one of many small steps we can take toward better relations and closer co-operation.

Tombstone Celebrates Commerce

Miir Watanabe and I came up with the idea of a dance event to celebrate new businesses in Tombstone. 2 weeks later, Miir has the whole town buzzing about the dance, which I for one pronounce a huge success.

After the start of the event a great storm came through and took down our telegraph system and interrupted stagecoach service to and from the town greeting area. I was forced to use a messenger pigeon several times last night, only to discover that this strange weather phenomenon had affected the entire world. None of us had access to our banking and we were unable to contribute financially to our cause - donating to the town general fund.

But for those of us who were there, nothing could stop several hours of dancing to the fine tunes spun by Sara Bode and Miir Watanabe.

The general consensus for the evening? More dances for Tombstone!

Is War on the Horizon?

From an anonymous contributor...

Open hostilities have broken out between the Apache and the 10th Cavalry today after Sgt of Scouts, Tinatickles Cummings was captured and tortured by the Apaches and left in the desert to fend for herself. Upon her release, it was reported that two small caliber gunshots were heard, followed by a volley of rifle fire. When asked why the Apache took Sgt Cummings, the reply was, "Avenging the treatment of our SpiritWoman Cactus Flower and the way the Cavalry treated her."

The Captain of the Post, Captain Wolfgang Kyong, was not available for comment, and Sgt. Cummings was in no shape to talk. In a related incident, A townswoman coming to Apache land was shot and wounded. Claiming only to be there to help, the Apaches seemed not interested and went after her for what can only be described as cruel sport. What is going to become of the peace here? Are we truly facing a time of war?

SL Merchant Times: Saddle up! Visit Tombstone for some great Western RP!:

"I recently made the acquaintance of a Dr. Haxon Steele. Turns out he was rustling up some more supplies for his doctor's office in Tombstone. I got an invite to the sim and what I saw was a well-designed collection of Western shops and locales, blended in smoothly with the occasional 21st-century innovations.

Tombstone is actually two sims side by side, Broken Rose and Tomsbtone Arizona. Broken Rose has a lot of the shops, and Tombstone features a fort, but each contains a few surprises for ya!..."

Desperado Kidd Hero or Villain?

Report by M. Watanabe, Tombstone Epitaph and Sun-Review - July 24th
-----------------------------------

How safe is Tombstone? That's the question on the minds of many women. It started with questions from the outlaws but now our law abiding citizens are beginning to wonder just what is going on behind the closed doors of the sheriff's office.

There are two separate eye witness accounts that were told to this reporter, both which will remain nameless to protect them, along with countless others that are now popular stories being passed around from lady to lady.

It isn't a large secret that women outnumber the men in Tombstone these days, though the men haven't seem to have caught onto this fact. Still, the larger populars agrees that the sheriff is against women and not interested in assisting them.

Not only does he reportedly turn a blind eye to women in need, but my two sources insist that he was the reason they were both shot!

Now, there is no way to know if this is 100% accurate other than the trust from one soul to another (since I wasn't there to see with my own eyes), but I find it disturbing that I heard the same exact story from two separate sources that weren't in the same room when they explained what happened to me.

Ladies: All I have to tell you is to be careful!! I'm not saying we need to go out and storm the sheriff's office (yet) but keep an eye out. While we're not totally sure Kidd is really out to get us, there's no reason not to make sure it doesn't happen at all.

In one scene, we have Sheriff Kidd slapping up wanted posters over the front of one of our businesses. The owner (we'll call her Lady A) came out to complain about the number of posters and insisted that they were defacing her building.

Kidd reportedly entered into a heated argument with Lady A while Lady B (the second source) came outside after hearing the loud voices. Lady B tells me that she was sure Sheriff Kidd was going to shoot, or otherwise harm, Lady A and pleaded with him to stop.

The story continues to tell that Sheriff Kidd turned and shot Lady B instead, leaving her to die and simply walking away without any further show of feeling to the critically injured woman.

It was later told to me by Lady A that Sheriff Kidd justified his actions by insisting Lady B had a gun trained on him, however reports from witnesses insist that she did not -- and even if she did, she never shot the Sheriff!

Now, I repeat that this is all say-so from one person to another, but take in the facts ladies and gentlemen. More than one source attests to the same exact story! Perhaps Tombstone isn't quite as safe in leadership as we had once thought?

There have been four separate murders at Dutch Annie's ... NONE of which were deigned important by Sheriff Kidd even though they were reported to his office. It has been confirmed to me that a woman could be bleeding to death in the street and Sheriff Kidd would merely walk away.

Woman hater? Woman *murderer*? Who is watching out for us? Who even acknowledges that we're the main populous of our town and DO have brains and feelings?

If you have any information on Sheriff Kidd (or any of his deputies) PLEASE do yourselves and your fellow citizens right by making a swift report to myself (Miir Watanabe) or our editor (Zoe Connolly) as soon as possible!!

Only together can we make sure that we carry on. Support your fellow citizen and denounce the possibility of corrupt law!

Remember: You heard it here first!

= M. Watanabe

(Note: Just as a side note, not all deputies are said to be in partnership with Kidd's actions, so please don't harass them just because they wear the badge! As it is, I am working with an unnamed deputy to find out what's really happening behind those closed doors. Until names are given, respect the law but do so warily. That is the best recommendation that I can give you.)

Apache Wedding this Sunday

Poul Taurog and Laika Amat wish to invite everyone to their Wedding next weekend on the Ceremonial Grounds below the Apache Village. Chief Dagger Barbosa will be officiating the ceremony. The wedding will take place Sunday July 29th at 8:00 AM SL time. Please join the happy couple on this joyous occasion.

Response to Letters to the Editor - July 17th

Today I received a response to The Tombstone Sun-Review: Letters to the Editor - July 17th...

Dear Editor, here is the official report on the incidents talked about in the July 17th issue of your fine paper "Letter to the editor - July 17th - HOW TOWN LAW WORKS IN TOMBSTONE".

I was dealing with Tyran when I heard Jefke Kohmine say "These deputies are annoying me. Lets kill them" They both walked in with their guns in hand. I shot them both down. I gave 10 minutes to jefke for harassment and ryann 30 minutes for shooting a lawman.

Miss Minx falls ill...

Miss Minx fainted this morning, falling victim to dehydration I suspect. I offered her a glass of water and it seemed to help a great deal. I can't help but think there may be something else wrong...

An Intersim Pony Express Service proposed...

In an interview with Tombstone Mayor Adrian Wise, Mr Wise proposed an interesting idea to help unite a few of our like-minded 19th Century citizens...

OK..Here it is. I was wondering how we could run a Pony Express through town and then I remembered how i go shopping in Caledon. See, Caledon is so big and most of the time you are dumped off in a general location..well that is smart for business.

Anyway, you have to follow a red arrow and a red beam to your location. So I actually teleport with Midas - my horse - and then ride like a crazed SOB to my destination. I like it, I get to see the country sides and the people like it
Heck - I've sold horses for AKK that way.

So here is what we do.

(These are just examples)
Get Steelhead - I have a dear friend there,
Caledon, Elvenmoor..whoever and how many ever and they get to write postcards or note cards or send objects and package or box them up for the Pony Express rider.

Now apon arrival to the destination, the rider recieves his package and a land mark. (red arrow and beam) then rides across the SIM to the beam where the next rider awaits.

Object is then given to next rider and he is given a new landmark. And so on and so on and so on, until the final rider reaches Tombstone.
All long the way, mail can be dropped off, but ideally, the mail is destined for Tombstone.

I will search for an ideal container..more than likely several of those sorting boxes from Thinc.
And go from there..

I really wonder..In time...how many SIMs the Pony Express will cross

Smoke Signals :: Apache Tribe News

From an anonymous writer...

Tomo Uggla Promoted to WarChief

This past Saturday at the Apache Council meeting, Tomo Uggla was surprised to find that he had been selected to take the spot vacated by Wally Wunderlich.

Tomo Accepted the post with great pride and humility, and promised to do his utmost to fullfill the expectations of his Chief and his Tribe. We all wish Tomo the best in his new position.

Apaches allowed to return to town armed and unescorted...

From an anonymous reporter...

In a move that surprised, and in some cases, alarmed some of the citizens of Tombstone, the Mayor and City Council announced that the Apache will be allowed to return once again to the city to trade and pick up needed supplies.

As a gesture of peace, Mayor Adrian Wise offered a wagon and team of horses filled with medical supplies, food and seeds for planting to the Apache people.

However, upon careful examination of the emptied medical supply crate, the pungent smell of gun oil could clearly be detected. When tried to be reached for questioning, both Mayor Wise and Apache Chief Dagger Barbosa were conveniently unavailable for comment.

I would be the last to cry conspiracy, but does this strike anyone else as a bit strange?
Yes, interesting indeed...

Citizen Profile :: Mikk Graves

The Following Profile was submitted to the Connolly Library...

Mikk Graves is the son of a brothel dancer and a navy officer. His father left his mother even before he was born.

When Mikk was 3 years old, his mother could not take care of the boy anymore due to her job as a dancer.

She gave him to a group of natives that she had befriended.

Mikk lived with the natives very happily for almost a year. Then something terrible happened.............

The natives were slaughtered by some soldiers and Mikk barely survived. All natives were dead and Mikk was taken in by a minister and his wife.

This was a bad experience for the boy. The minister was a very hard man. Mikk got beaten and was taught to fear god. The wife tried to heal Mikk's wounds and he loved her for doing that.

Then when Mikk was 17, he ran away from his home.

He gambled and drank for many years. And had some brief affairs with some shady ladies. He was a ladies man..and a formidable dancer. Mikk made a good living on this gambling and today he is a very wealthy man.

He has a huge mansion where he lives by himself.

Mikk came to Tombstone for gambling, but then he met a woman, and he fell in love for the first time. Deeply in love, he told her about his feelings, but she would not have him as he was a gambling man.

In despair, he went to the brothel and befriended a woman, but he was yet not happy.

Then his greatest moment happened...The woman he loved...finally got to love him. They were very happy and for the first time in many years, Mikk felt loved. He gave up on gambling.

But then Mikk made a terrible mistake..... The woman at the brothel he had befriended. earlier..came to him and cried and forced herself on him..and he gave in. He spent a night with her.

The love of his life found out about that. He had betrayed her. AGONY

She would not be with him anymore. She was a woman of honor.

Mikk was in despair.

She would not be with him anymore, even though she was still in love with him and he with her.

Then came the night when she took her revenge. She lured Mikk to meet her and have a dance with her at the The Shucks Valkyrie Hotel . Mikk...being the fool he is..ran to her. Could it be that she had forgiven him?

No, she had NOT !!! She turned him in for a break in at the Mine in Tombstone. And got the reward. He was later the same night cleared of all charges, an innocent man he was. AGONY

Now Mikk is a disillusioned man...He has sworn never to fall in love again. EVER....scorned as he was...

He is still drinking a bit too much...But still, he likes to dance. So that's what you will get from him,a dance and a laugh. And a drink......

I too... was once adored

Love me the most when I least deserve it, cause then I need it the most

better to have loved and lost..than not to have loved at all...

Letters to the Editor - July 17th

When I returned to my office today, there was a letter on my desk. The envelope read very simply "To Miss Connolly", no postmark or return address. I looked around, checking the office, the library upstairs, and the areas around the building. No one was in sight. With some trepidation I read the letter. I present it to you...unedited...

HOW TOWN LAW WORKS IN TOMBSTONE

On tuesday the 17th, town law demonstrated once more how incompetent they are for the job.
It started when a deputy came up to a citizen sitting in front off the sheriff's office. The deputy cuffed this citizen for no reason what so ever and "questioned" him. Deputy Noel Delcon arrested the citizen Jefke Kohime to ask him if he had committed any crimes during the 20minutes prior to his arrest. After replying he did not, he was released.

The citizen overheared a conversation in jail between another deputy, Dara Petrov, and a so called "criminal", citizen tyran Balut. Mr Balut couldn't pay his bail, so citizen Jefke Kohime entered the sheriff's office to talk to the deputy, wanting to bail mr. Balut out off jail. The deputy responded by shooting mr. Kohime on sight, refusing to give him medical treatment, and throw him in jail.

How well town law does their jobs...

I don't have much information on this incident, but at the moment I'll side with the Sheriff's Office until convinced otherwise.
